This evening as I was settling the kids down for bed, the following conversation took place:
Cool Bubby: (sitting up to look at me) "Mommy, we need a baby."
(Yeah, shocked me too! Now, I have to interject that the comment wasn't totally "out of the blue". We had just spent the afternoon playing at a friend's who has 3 children, the youngest being 10 months old, whom my children adore.) [Did I just grammatically destroy that sentence? I'm so glad I'm homeschooling so I can learn grammar again!]
Me: (nervously laughing out loud) "Oh yeah? Well, I'm not sure about that. Do you think we need a baby like Coby?"
Go Sissy Go: (piping up to give her 2 cents) "Yeah, but we need a baby girl."
Cool Bubby: "We need a boy baby, but a different one."
Me: (nervously laughing again) "Well, yes because Coby already belongs to Mrs. Beth so we would definitely need to have a different one. How about we talk to Daddy about all of this and see what he thinks?"
Cool Bubby: (silence)
Go Sissy Go: (silence)
End of conversation.
[yeah, I was pretty relieved too.]
